I'm Nerd Girl, aka Kate Gallagher, editor and author.

My editing expertise is built on five years of dedicated freelance editing experience, including working with an independent publishing company.  

It is supported by a career spent on both sides of the publishing fence.

As a published fiction author since 2012 (30+ books and counting!), I understand exactly what it takes to write, finish and publish a successful novel. I have personally navigated the editorial process many times, collaborating with professional editors on manuscripts written in both UK and US English.

This established writing career, combined with my formal EFA training, gives me a solid and unique understanding of what great fiction needs.

I am a proud member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), having completed specialized training through the organization in the US.

I genuinely love the editorial process—the crucial part where we turn a raw, brilliant idea into a compelling, polished piece of fiction worth publishing.
